For use with all Dremel high-speed rotary tools, these high-speed cutters work well for detailed material removal in applications like shaping, carving, engraving, hollowing, precision cutting, grooving, slotting, inlaying, making tapered holes or freehand routing. The Disc shape of the carving bit is ideal for making channel cuts while the accessory tip allows for side cuts. Compatible with all Dremel corded and cordless rotary tools. There's no need to hunt for the right collet, as all Dremel rotary accessories feature a 1/8" standard shank.

The Dremel 199 High Speed Cutter is an extremely versatile tool made from high-grade steel. It attaches to 1/8" (3,2mm) shanks, and is ideal for shaping, hollowing, grooving, slotting, inlaying and making tapered holes in soft metals, plastics and woods. The 199 is specially designed for making slots. For best results, insert the accessory bit all the way into the tool and then back it out slightly before tightening down. This provides plenty of shank for the collet or chuck to hold onto. Secure objects to a stable surface while working. Use the sides of the cutter (rather than the tip) for effective cutting. The tip cuts poorly and can break under pressure. Use higher speeds for hard woods, slower speeds for metals and very slow speeds for plastics (to avoid melting at the point of contact). If chattering occurs, increase speed. Use two hands to grip the tool. This cutter can grab and is subject to kickback.
